Workshop on Uncertainty Propagation and Probabilistic Performance Assessment in Engineering

Hannover, Germany — August 19, 2024 — The Institute for Risk and Reliability successfully hosted a workshop focused on "Uncertainty Propagation and Probabilistic Performance Assessment in Engineering" on August 19, 2024. The event, chaired by Professors Michael Beer and Jianbing Chen, brought together researchers to discuss the latest advancements in engineering risk assessment.

The workshop featured insightful presentations on critical topics, including seismic resilience of modular buildings by Said Ellias, the innovative MTST method for signal processing by Zifeng Huang, and probabilistic response determination in nonlinear systems by Mengze Lyu. These discussions underscored the importance of advanced methodologies in addressing uncertainty and improving the reliability of engineering systems.

With a mix of in-person and online participation, the workshop was an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and will contribute to ongoing research and development in the field of risk and reliability engineering. The IRZ is proud to have facilitated this important event and looks forward to future collaborations and innovations.
